Andrea Martin, 70, died peacefully at home surrounded in love by her children and siblings on September 13th, 2023. Predeceased by her one true love, Guy Martin, her husband of 44 years. Together they built a rock-solid foundation of love and family with their 6 cherished children: Alex (Patricia), Jennifer (Alain), Kevin (Cristina), Sarah (Jeff), Richard (Krystel), and Julia (Morgan). “Nandy” was adored by her 11 grandchildren: Ben, Alexandria, Gabie, Melia, Elysia, Keira, Matthew, Ryan, Emily, Calvin, and Olivia.
Born June 4th, 1953, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, to Clarice (Turgeon) and Gerald Mahoney, adored sister to Burke, Irene, Jeff, Donna, and Carol Ann. Andrea also leaves behind her in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Andrea selflessly and passionately raised her 6 children, and then transitioned to serving the educational community at different schools in Seminole County, Florida for 26 years. Her impact on countless children and families during this time is immeasurable.
Andrea amassed legions of friends, whether back in Montreal or here in Winter Springs, participating in cooking and bridge clubs, in between shuttling her kids around to various activities.
A friendship with Andrea was a friendship for life, whether moving countries or to different schools. She maintained very close relationships with her friends as far back as her Greenfield Park days, all the way through to the friends that knew her best since moving to Florida.
Her love for Guy, her partner of 47 years, was as pure as the driven snow, which ultimately brought them down south to Florida with four of their children in 1996. There is nothing Andrea loved more than time with Guy, taking drives to the beach, traveling the world, or simply cuddling up on the couch watching their favourite shows. Their love endures and remains the best example of pure and true love.
She leaves behind a massive, unfillable chasm as the rock and main pillar of our family. She will be loved, cherished, and remembered forever and always. We can only hope that she is now holding our father’s hand as they prepare to watch the sun rise together and watch over their kids and grandkids, proudly.
Join us on September 17, 2023, for a celebration of life where we welcome those closest to her to share memories to help us along in our time of mourning.
