Evelyn Diomede Oyler went to the lord at the age of 80 on September 6th, 2023. She was a resident of Winter Park, Florida. She was born on June 22, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY to Mason and Sylvia Guarno.
She moved from Brooklyn, NY to Winter Park, Florida in 1970 and lived in that house up until her death. She is one of four siblings, two of which preceded her in death Joey Guarno and Marie Coppola, and Irene Guarno.
She was married to Nicholas Diomede and in that marriage, she had a son Mark Diomede. Mark was her only child and she worked tirelessly to give him everything she could. She was remarried years later to Tom Oyler and they were married for 35 years before she passed. She loved Tom with all her heart and loved taking care of him. She worked as a hairdresser for many years before going into the school system as a paraprofessional, which is the profession she retired from. Evelyn was catholic and took her faith very seriously. She went to church most if not every Sunday, even as her illness progressed and when she couldn’t go to church, church came to her. She said her rosary religiously. She was a true Italian and she loved to cook for her family and friends. She was an entertainer and hosted every holiday she could for her family, extended family, and friends. She adored her two grandchildren Dominick and Gabriella Diomede. She doted on them and loved them immensely.
Gabby preceded her in death at the age of 22. She was heartbroken, but continued to have her faith, family, and friends to support her. She loved her only son Mark and her daughter-in-law Dawn, and they traveled together and made so many great memories. She loved to travel and explore the world with her family and friends. She went to Costa Rica, Alaska, Gatlinburg, Charleston, and many other cruises. Evelyn was a truly caring and forgiving woman and always tried to put her best foot forward. She was loved and will be missed by anyone that had the privilege to meet her and be a part of her life.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Tom Oyler, her son and daughter-in-law Mark and Dawn Diomede, her grandson Dominick Diomede, her sister Irene Guarno, her brother-in-law Jerry Coppola, her niece Jill Kamback and her nephew Clifford Coppola and many great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in death by her granddaughter Gabriella Diomede, her sister Marie Coppola, and her brother Joey Guarno.
The service is scheduled for September 15, at 11 a.m. St. Margaret Mary Winter Park with Father Walsh presiding.
There will also be graveside interment at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday September 14, from 5p.m. to 7 p.m. at Highland Memorial Garden, Apopka.
