Kathleen Marie Bogurske

Kathleen Faletti Bogurske of Orlando, Florida, passed away on 9.8.2023 under the care of Excellence ALF Memory Care & Cornerstone Hospice.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 8, 1944, when the family lived nearby, cousins played together, and aunts and uncles gathered around the kitchen table. Her family called her “Kitchie” because her uncles would say “Kitchy-Coo” while they played with her as a baby.

Kathleen graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Chicago, Illinois, and then entered the workforce working with infants at Mother Cabrini Hospital. She later ventured into administrative technology. Kathleen retired from the main office at Michael McCoy Elementary in Orlando, Florida.

Kathy married John Bogurske on July 26, 1970, at St. Michael’s Church in Chicago, Illinois. They lived in the Chicago area for many years until moving to Orlando in the late 1980s. Their only son, Daniel, was born on September 9, 1980.

Her hobbies included crochet and cross stitch. She loved children, especially babies, and would make blankets for anyone she knew who was expecting. On Saturday night, you would find her at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, sitting in the back row with her friend—Eugenia Pecukonis, who recently passed away. She loved animals, especially her beloved cats, Alice and Trixie. Her love for her family was like no other. Kathleen showed that a Mother/Grandmother’s love could come from her sister, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Melissa) Bogurske, her niece, Gina Wirth, and her Great-nieces Jessica and Cecilia Wirth. Her husband, John, her parents, Charles and Catherine (Piccatto) Faletti, and her sister, Marlene (Faletti) Schoenenberger, preceded her in death.
