Barbara Wilson Poorbaugh

Barbara Wilson Poorbaugh, 95 of Orlando, FL was called home on September 15, 2023, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born in 1928 in Miami. Daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Marion Wilson, she was the youngest of three. She graduated from Miami High School in 1947.

Barbara met her husband Bill while he was attending the University of Miami, and after Bill graduated, the two married February 14, 1953 and moved to Orlando. Shortly after moving to Orlando, Barbara helped Bill open his State Farm agency, which stayed open for nearly 60 years. Barbara’s greatest legacy is her family and the faith she instilled in them.

Barbara was a faith-driven, feisty, loving soul. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Barbara was the ultimate gracious hostess, and loved to host family gatherings at her beautiful home. The space she filled in her family’s lives can only be replaced by the love, hope, faith, and memories she brought to their lives. Barbara will always be remembered as the best wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister.

Predeceased by her husband Bill, her daughter Sandi, her sisters Helene Horn and Mary Francis Sharp. Barbara is survived by her son Steve Poorbaugh (Jennifer), her daughter Stacy Bogert (Ted), grandchildren Laura (Ben), Courtney (Cameron), Hayley, Connor, and Hunter Grayson, great-grandchildren Carter and Cooper, as well as many nieces and nephews.
