Rose was born in Rizal Claveria, Misamis Oriental, Philippines on March 4, 1948. She was raised by wonderful parents, but she lost her mother to cancer when she was 26 – two weeks after her wedding. Rose and Crescencio raised their 5 children in Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines and moved to Orlando, Florida, USA in 1994. They have been married for 49 years.
To honor Rose is to remember that her life is marked by faith, family and friendship. God was the center of her life. She loved and served the Lord. Together with her husband, they raised their children in the Catholic faith and instilled in them Jesus’ teaching to love and serve. She was mindful and grateful of God’s presence in her daily life, of the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the intercession of the Blessed Mother throughout her life’s journey.
Anyone who knew Rose knew how important family is to her. She was the matriarch of the family. Her husband was her rock. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. They were her source of inspiration, especially during her battle with cancer. She would often say that her children and grandchildren are her legacy. And no one is a stranger in her presence; her warm and beautiful smile instantly made you feel at home. She loved and cared deeply for her family and friends. She is happiest when family and friends get together. Her eye for beauty, kind and happy disposition, thoughtfulness, warm hospitality, , positive outlook, generosity, are some of her attributes that will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Rose truly lived Jesus’ commandments that: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” To honor her life, we strive to do the same.
