A 36-year-old man who was attempting to cross Interstate 4 on Friday night was killed after he was struck by a vehicle.
The fatal accident took place near mile marker 64 on I-4 in Osceola County on Friday, September 22, at around 9:30 p.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the man, who was from Fieldon, Illinois, had crossed the eastbound lanes and the median before entering the westbound lanes.
Upon entering the westbound lanes, the man walked into the direct path of a 2021 Honda CRV being driven by a 27-year-old man from Fairfield, New Jersey.
The pedestrian was struck by the SUV and was later transported to Celebration Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver was uninjured in the crash.
