A 52-year-old Apopka man who was caught with hundreds of files depicting child sexual abuse has been sentenced to over a decade behind bars.
Charles Vincent Yannaccone was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Wendy W. Berger to spend 12 years and 6 months in federal prison for receipt and possession of child sexual abuse materials.
According to court records, law enforcement authorities determined that Yannaccone had downloaded multiple depictions of child sexual abuse materials using a peer-to-peer file-sharing platform.
A search warrant was obtained and executed on Yannaccone’s residence, where police seized multiple electronic devices in his possession.
Law enforcement discovered hundreds of depictions of child sexual abuse materials on Yannaccone’s electronic devices, according to court records.
Yannacone was indicted in September 2022 and pled guilty this past June. He was forced to forfeit five hard drives, a cellphone, a computer tower, and a computer with an SD card, as well as a thumb drive.
Yannaccone faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years on the three counts of receipt, and a maximum penalty of as much as 20 years on each of the four counts.
