Fred Rader

Fred Vincent Rader, 88, passed away on September 26, 2023 under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. Fred was a native of Mansfield, Ohio and moved to Central Florida in 1948.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He then continued his legacy of service with the US Post Office, where he served as a Postal Inspector and as Postmaster during his career. Fred continued his tradition of service by joining the Elks Lodge in Sanford, Florida where he was a Past Exalted Ruler, the American Legion in Sanford and the Rotary Club as well.

He was a good Christian man who was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sanford. When not working or volunteering his time, Fred enjoyed fishing, playing softball, playing golf and watching football, especially the Bucs. He was very proud of the fact that he was in attendance for the very first Tampa Bay Bucs game.

Fred was preceded in death by his sons, Frederick “Ricky” Vincent Rader and Jon David Rader.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 68 years, Sharon Rae Rader, daughter Pam (Allan) Geer, grandchildren, Wendy Rae (John) Briscoe, Ashley (Robert “Buddy”) Hedrick, Taylor (Chris) Jones, Jeremiah Rader and Carl (Natalie) Geer and great grandchildren, Lily Rae Briscoe, Logan Briscoe, Robert “Bert” Hedrick, Walter “Wally” Hedrick, Sophia Jones, Khali Jones and Nicholas Geer.

There will be a service of remembrance for Fred on Sunday, October 1st, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 419 S Park Ave, Sanford, FL 32771.
