Jose Antonio Hernandez, 74, began his rest on September 23, 2023 in Orlando, Florida. Jose Antonio was born on October 8, 1948 in San Cristobal, Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, to parents Lucas Hernandez Licor and Alejandrina Lopez Montero, both of whom preceded him in death.
Jose Antonio was a very happy person, his sense of humor and his joy were contagious, and making jokes were part of his personality. A sportsman at heart, Jose Antonio had a passion for all sports, but especially baseball/ball. He was a very talented Domino player, and playing with his friends and family was one of his favorite activities, always being a very difficult opponent to beat. It was almost impossible!!
A coffee lover, coffee was never missing in our house, and he instilled in the family the love for that typical drink of our country. His skills as a cook were excellent, his food and his recipes were delicious, he made the best Congri in the world! One of the best memories of him was always listening to him sing while he cooked.
One of the activities that he enjoyed very much was walking, and his grandson Yovan accompanied him when he took his walks around the neighborhood. An animal lover, dogs had a special place in his heart.
Jose Antonio leaves the memories of his life to be treasured; daughter, Malvys Martinez; sons, Ricardo Hernandez and Carlos Antonio Hernandez; son-in-law and son of his heart, Yosvani Martinez; brothers, Roberto Hernandez and Victor Hernandez; sisters, Gladys Hernandez Gonzalez and Georgina Roque; grandchildren, Yovan Anthony Martinez and Yenessa Angela Martinez; as well as many more family and friends who will miss him immensely.
We will never forget his positive attitude towards life, and his contagious joy. And although his loss fills the hearts of all those who were blessed to know him with pain, now we will join together in celebration of a life so loved, which was lived with happiness, joy, love and light.
A viewing will be held on October 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at A Community Funeral Home & Sunset Cremations, located at 910 W. Michigan St. in Orlando.
