With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of August (Gus) Charles Anzalone, a loving father, devoted grandfather, and an extraordinary man. Gus departed from this world on a serene evening, surrounded by his family, on September 29, 2023. Gus was the beloved son of the late Christmas and Lillian Anzalone (née: Aquilina) and is preceded by his siblings Thomas, Josephine, Arthur, Ignatious (Nick), and Victor. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, James.
Gus’s journey through life was nothing short of remarkable. He began his adventure in the United States Air Force, where he served his country with unwavering honor and dedication. Following his military service, Gus embarked on an entrepreneurial path, establishing a thriving business that left an enduring mark on his community.
Beyond his professional success, Gus was a dedicated family man. His love and devotion to his children, Angela (Warren), Donna (Jim), Michelle, Ronda, Renee (John), Chris (Julie), and their families, were immeasurable. He took great pride in witnessing his family flourish.
Gus’s legacy extended far and wide. He is survived by his cherished sister, Marygrace Dutton, and a beautiful tapestry of generations. Gus is also survived by his adoring grandchildren: Kimmie, Jenny, Meagan, Heather, Austin, Taylor, Rochelle, Jaimee, Danielle, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Chris, and Amanda. His love and influence reached even further, as he was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren.
Gus’s warmth and caring spirit extended to a wide circle of beloved nieces and nephews, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals. His generosity, kindness, and steadfast support will forever be etched in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him.
In the hearts of those who loved him, Gus will forever remain a symbol of strength, resilience, and boundless love. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
