Sanford library hosting pumpkin painting contest

The Sanford Public Library is hosting The Great Pumpkin Paint Off this week for teens.

The pumpkin painting contest will be held on Tuesday, October 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the North Branch Library, which is located at 150 N Palmetto Ave. in Sanford.

The event will give teens the chance to paint a pumpkin to look like a children’s book character. Pumpkins will be displayed throughout the library in a scavenger hunt for kids, and the teen who paints the most popular pumpkin receives a $10 cash reward.

The event is for teens 13 and up and pre-registration is required.
