Scott Updike died peacefully at Advent Health Hospice on October 8, 2023 in
Altamonte Springs, FL.

Scott is survived by his wife Debbie, son Jerry, daughter-in-law Ginger, and granddaughter Harper Grace all residence of Sanford, FL.

Scott came into the world on February 13, 1959 in Janesville Wisconsin. He was the sixth of eight children. He spent his summers fishing, camping, hunting, water skiing and working on his grandparent’s cranberry marsh.
After graduation he joined the United States Air Force serving 12 years as a weapons loader for the A10 aircraft (aka The Warthog). He was stationed at 4 different bases including Izmer City, Turkey where he worked for NATO. While in the service he played softball on several military base recreational teams.

He met the love of this life in 1978 enjoying a ham sandwich and beer at an off base bar named The Wildcat in Tuscan Arizona while stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. Debbie, a non-drinker but big dancer caught his eye and the rest is history. They married at Good Sheppard Catholic Church in
Orlando, FL on May 19th, 1979. Their son Jerry was born 2 years later. They enjoyed more than 44 years of marriage and friendship.

Scott settled his family in the Orlando area following an honorable discharge in 1989. After the Air Force he began his love for coaching youth bowling. Over the years hundreds of kids went through his guidance and care as it came to learning about the sport as much as it was about learning about the simple joys of life.

In 2014 his granddaughter harper grace was born. He loved watching his little performer on stage. Sadly, in February at age 64 his heath stared to decline.

His funeral will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at All Souls Historic Chapel located at 800 S. Oak Ave, Sanford, Florida 32771 with a reception immediately following at the family’s home. All
