Police believe an Orlando man who was arrested on multiple charges in Volusia County is responsible for at least a dozen “brazen” liquor store thefts that he was able to execute within seconds each time.
Jackie Julius Leon Wallace, 34, was arrested last week in Volusia County on multiple felony charges including grand theft, kidnapping, and trafficking in fentanyl, among others.
According to the Orlando Police Department, Wallace is suspected of committing a string of liquor store thefts across multiple stores, cities, and counties.
In each case, Wallace allegedly walked into the liquor store, grabbed several bottles or boxes from shelves, and ran out the door within seconds of entering. After exiting the store, Wallace would enter a getaway vehicle and flee the scene.
Orlando police believe Wallace was responsible for at least a dozen thefts in Orlando alone, costing the businesses thousands of dollars in lost merchandise.
Wallace was taken into custody in Volusia on different charges and now faces at least 10 arrest warrants for cases in Orlando. Police say he is facing charges from other counties as well.
The getaway car is also facing charges in connection to the liquor theft, although the driver was not named by police.
