Dwayne Lee Burks was born July 12, 1969, in Loudoun County, Virginia to Edith Hughes and the late Archie Burks. After graduating from Loudoun County High School, in Leesburg, Va., Dwayne joined the United States Army as a Hebrew Linguist/Translator, where he served internationally until 1991. Following his military service, he began working at Verizon for 15 years and was most recently employed as a TSA agent at Florida-area airports.

Many will remember Dwayne for his laugh, contagious smile and sense of humor. Dwayne had a commitment to family and friends and loved spending time with his son. He loved car shows, a round of golf, bowling and exploring landmarks. He expressed a sense of adventure racing his Mustang and skydiving.

He is survived by his mother Edith Hughes; two children, Tristan Juhasz and Jalen Burks; sisters Yvette Hardiman, Stephanie Burks, Lynn Burks, Jamie Gray, and the love of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Dwayne was preceded in death by his father Archie Lee Burks.

Services will be held on October 27, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico.
