A Winter Garden man will spend the next four decades behind bars for enticing a 14-year-old girl to send him sexually explicit videos through SnapChat.
Michael Remaley, 22, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza to 40 years in federal prison for the production and receipt of child sex abuse material.
According to court records, Remaley used the application SnapChat several times over the course of a two-week span to entice a 14-year-old girl to send him sexually explicit videos of herself.
In addition to receiving videos, Remaley also used the application to share several media files depicting child sex abuse materials with a second SnapChat user.
Authorities say that the videos that Remaley shared included video of female children between the ages of five and eight years old. The children were all being sexually abused in the videos.
Remaley pled guilty on July 18, 2023.
