George D. Lincoln, 54, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 23, 2023 in his Winter Park home after a long battle with illness.

He was born in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania on October 25, 1968. He was raised by his loving parents, Janet and James “Jim” Lincoln, alongside his older brother, Steven. At the age of 7, his family moved to Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. George attended Ridley High School, and at the age of 17 enlisted in the United States Navy. He talked often of his travels during his service, from his time in Tennessee to California to Virginia. While in the Navy, his primary duty station was NAS Norfolk where he worked on helicopters and other aircraft. George received an honorable discharge in 1991.

While visiting home on when on leave in 1991, he met his wife, Marlena. They married in May 1993, and went on to have two daughters, Kelly and Jessica. George was an affectionate husband and proud father. After his oldest daughter decided to attend FSU, he became a devoted Seminoles fan, rooting for them with every game and cheering as loud as possible at every graduation.

He was also known to adopt the neighborhood cats. With a tough exterior, you would never be able to tell he had such a soft side. He had a love for old western movies, Archie Bunker, and could be found blasting Johnny Cash songs most mornings, if he wasn’t watching Saved by The Bell with his youngest daughter. He had an unconventional way of doing things and, to him, a roll of duct tape and a few tools was the answer to everything.

George grew up helping his dad in his shop, building things, working on cars, and everything in between. It’s because of this passion that he decided to begin his own business, Lincoln Construction Solutions. In 2005, George decided to move the family to Winter Park, Florida, with the hopes of building his business and joining his brother Steve. George used his helpful hands for good, always volunteering to help a friend in need, or a daughter with a broken-down car. On his birthday one year, he showed up to his daughter’s school in order to take a look at her car that she was having trouble with that morning. He was a caring friend and a dedicated father.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years Marlena, his daughters Kelly and Jessica, his mother Janet S. Lincoln, his brother Steven, and his sister Honey. As well as countless nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father James “Jim” Lincoln Jr., his brother James “Jimmy” Lincoln III, and his sister Micki Sharp.

The service to honor the life of George Lincoln will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on October 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. located at 3377 Aloma Ave. in Winter Park
