Hollis Joe Campbell, 87, of Kissimmee, FL, peacefully passed away on October 17, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born December 19, 1935 into a family of six children with strong values. Hollis married his childhood sweetheart Evelyn in 1955 and they raised two daughters, Melanie, and Sheila after losing their first daughter Miriam Alisa.
Hollis honorably served in the United States Army Reserve during early years of his career while working to become a Licensed Mechanical Contractor. He was one of many who worked behind the scenes at Kennedy Space Center to launch man into space, the opening of Walt Disney World, where he watched Roy Disney oversee the building of Main Street, USA, along with working on dozens of hotels as central Florida expanded. Hollis was a small business owner who diligently added value to hundreds of families during his almost 70-year career in air conditioning and plumbing across central Florida.
A man of deep faith who believed in the importance of sharing the gospel, Hollis was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kissimmee, FL where he and his wife Evelyn raised their daughters in the faith. He lived out his value to serve others by repairing the air conditioning of struggling individuals, then refusing to send them a bill. “It’s my ministry” he simply said. His commitment to serve the community was a testament to his faith. He never retired, just slowed down since there were so many to help.
When he did stop to rest Hollis celebrated with his family. His greatest joy came from precious moments spent with his beloved wife Evelyn, and their daughters and son-in-laws; Melanie and Dave, Sheila, and Dwight; grandchildren Emilee, Josh, Leighn, Apryl, Heidi, Mario, and Garrett; great-grandchildren Alora, Luna, Evelyn and Josie; along with his siblings, nieces, nephews and their children. His love, guidance, and unwavering support will forever live on in their hearts.
