Zombie Run returns to Winter Park brewery

A race that pits the “living” against the “dead” for a chance at free beer will return to a Winter Park brewery this week for its fifth installment.

The fifth annual Zombie Run will be hosted by Tactical Brewing Co. at Lake Baldwin Park (2000 S. Lakemont Avenue) beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 26.

Each zombie participant will have 2 flags attached to their belt. “Zombie Hunters” will be set along the racing path and will try to take the flags. Those who make it back “alive” with two flags will receive $14 towards a tab. Those who make it back “alive” with one flag will receive $7 towards a tab. The brewery says all participants will receive $1 off each and every beer on tap during the evening.

The first 20 people that show up dressed like zombies will receive a custom Zombie Run shirt for free, as well as free zombie face painting from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The course is two and a half miles long, and participants may walk, run, or trot at any pace.

Waivers must be signed by any new participant. This event is free to play and those who want to participate must be 21 or older.
