The county will host an event with dozens of animals and rescue groups for anyone looking to adopt a pet this weekend.
Orange County Animal Services will host Barktoberfest on Sunday, October 29, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Eola Park (512 East Washington Street).
The event will feature dozens of animals available onsite, in the care of the shelter’s rescue groups. Animals include puppies, adult dogs, specific breeds, and mixed breeds.
Event organizers say that there will be a wide variety of options and that there will be a pet available for each interested adopter.
The county’s animal services department currently works with more than 80 rescue groups across the state that aid in the recovery and adoption of homeless animals.
