The city of Orlando is giving out free fruit trees to Orlando residents at McQuigg Urban Farm from this week.
Residents may pick up the fruit trees between Wednesday, November 1 and Friday, November 3 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McQuigg Urban Farms, which is located at 716 West Jefferson Street in Orlando.
The city is providing the free trees to plant on residential properties as part of one of its initiatives.
“Increasing tree canopy isn’t just good for the environment; it can also help reduce overall energy costs in a home by 30 percent,” reads a statement from the city.
The program is only available to residents living within the City of Orlando.
