Georgia Dale Murdaugh

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Georgia Dale Murdaugh. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Georgia brought joy and laughter into the lives of those she loved. Her unwavering love and nurturing spirit will forever be remembered.

Born on September 18, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, Georgia lived a life filled with simplicity, kindness, and an undying commitment to her family. She found her calling as a dedicated bus driver for the Orange County Public Schools, touching the lives of countless students throughout her career. Her patience and warm smile brought comfort to the children under her care, making their daily rides an enjoyable experience.

Georgia journeyed through life with resilience, overcoming various challenges with grace and determination. Her optimism and perseverance served as an inspiration to many who knew her.

Left to honor her memory are her beloved daughters, Penny (Frank Fornos) Smithers, Pamela (Kenny) Smith, Donna Rhone, & Connie Murdaugh; along with her grandchildren, Wendy Madders, Joseph Rhone, Tiffany Ellis, Joshua Smith, Miah Cash, & Stan Thomas Jr. She is the proud great-grandmother of Alexander & Abigayle.

Georgia is pre-deceased by her husband Ralph, her granddaughter Myranda Southern, & 3 sisters. Through her love and guidance, she instilled in each of them the values of kindness, perseverance, and family unity.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 11th, 11am at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering Georgia’s vibrant personality and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Let us come together during this time of remembrance, sharing stories and memories that will keep her spirit alive for generations to come.

Following the service, Georgia will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka FL. with her husband Ralph.

Though our sorrow may be great, today we choose to celebrate the joy, love, and laughter that Georgia brought into our lives. Her spirit will forever be a reminder to cherish those we hold dear and live each day to the fullest.

Forever in our hearts, Georgia’s legacy will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
