A 60-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-4 last night.
The fatal accident occurred near mile marker 62 on Interstate 4 at around 7:12 p.m. on Monday, October 30.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2018 Honda GL1800 westbound on I-4, just west of mile marker 62. The motorcyclist, along with several vehicles around him in the inside lane, all slowed down for traffic ahead.
At the same time, a 28-year-old man from Haines City was driving a 2023 Ford F-150 westbound and failed to slow down for the vehicles ahead.
As a result, the front of the Ford collided with the rear of the motorcycle. After the collision, the Ford continued traveling in a southerly direction and collided with the rear of a 2024 Volvo XC60 being driven by a 53-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York.
The Volvo was then pushed into the center lane, where it collided with the left side of a 2023 Kia Sorrento being driven by a 24-year-old woman from Davenport.
After the crash, the motorcycle and the Ford both became engulfed in flames, according to authorities.
Three passengers in the Kia were transported to Celebration Hospital with minor injuries.
The motorcyclist was transported to Orlando Health Reunion Village, where he was pronounced deceased.
