A 44-year-old man was killed while he was riding his motorcycle after a vehicle turned in front of him on a roadway in Osceola County.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Buena Ventura Boulevard and Majors Lane on Friday, November 3, at around 8:12 p.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist, who was from Kissimmee, was riding a 2005 Yamaha Motorcycle northbound on Buena Ventura Blvd, approaching Majors Lane in the inside lane.
Witnesses say that the motorcycle was traveling above the posted speed limit and that it did not have its headlights on.
At the same time, a 39-year-old Kissimmee man was stopped in his 2017 Ford Cargo Van in the westbound lane of Majors Lane, waiting to make a left turn.
As the driver began to turn his vehicle left, he entered the direct path of the van.
As a result, the motorcycle crashed into the front left side of the van.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the van and his passenger, a 14-year-old Kissimmee boy, were not injured in the crash.
