5-year-old girl killed in hit-and-run accident on Orange Blossom Trail

Orlando police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 5-year-old girl.

Orlando Police Department officers responded to reports of a two-vehicle accident in the 4300 block of N Orange Blossom Trail on Saturday, November 11, at around 9:51 p.m.

According to authorities, an unknown suspect vehicle hit another vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The vehicle that was struck had a driver and four other occupants inside of it at the time of the accident.

One of the women in the vehicle, as well as a female child, sustained significant injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital.

The child succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The woman is expected to survive, according to police. The other occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

“We are following all potential leads in identifying the suspect,” reads a statement from OPD.
