It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hashim ‘Moody’ Yehia, a beloved husband, father, and friend who left this world on Saturday, November 4. Moody was born in Kfar Qara, Israel on January 27, 1955, and later made his home in Orlando, Florida, where he created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Moody was a man of remarkable character, known for his kind and authentic nature. He possessed a forceful spirit that left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. With a big personality that radiated warmth and joy, he was truly the life of the party, bringing a contagious energy to every gathering.
Above all else, Moody was devoted to his family. His love for his wife, Tammy, was evident in every glance, every touch, and every shared moment. Married for 37 years, they built a foundation of unwavering support and boundless affection for each other.
Moody was a dedicated father to his son, Josef, and daughter, Emily, who were the center of his world. He instilled in them the values of love, authenticity and the importance of family. His legacy lives on through them, as they carry forward the lessons he imparted and the love he bestowed upon them.
Throughout his 68 years, Moody touched the lives of countless people with his genuine kindness and his ability to make every person he encountered laugh and feel welcome. He was the man “who never met a stranger”. He leaves behind a community that will forever be grateful for the light he brought into their lives.
Moody is survived by his loving wife: Tamara “Tammy” Yehia; Son: Josef (Lauren Chabot); Daughter: Emily Leto (William); Brothers : Hisham (Jawaher), Esam (Yasmin), Sisters : Tarab (Abdullah), Miriam (Mohamed), Aisha, Halima (Mahmoud), and Maha (Hatab); 44 nieces and nephews and 81 great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Moody’s extraordinary life will be held on December 9 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. All who were touched by Moody’s presence are invited to join in commemorating a life well-lived.
May Moody’s memory be a blessing, and may his spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
