A local library will host a free showing of The Iron Giant this week as part of its Family Movie Night series.
The Seminole County Public Library System will host a showing of the children’s movie on Tuesday, November 21, starting at 5:30 p.m. at its West Branch, which is located at 245 N Hunt Club Boulevard in Longwood.
The movie follows a giant alien robot who crash-lands near the small town of Rockwell, Maine, in 1957. Exploring the area, a local 9-year-old boy, Hogarth, discovers the robot, and soon forms an unlikely friendship with him. When a paranoid government agent, Kent Mansley, becomes determined to destroy the robot, Hogarth and beatnik Dean McCoppin must do what they can to save the misunderstood machine.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and snacks to participate in this family-friendly event.
