Bicyclist struck and killed in fatal hit-and-run on Narcoossee Road

A bicyclist was killed after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene of a fatal accident on Narcoossee Road.

The fatal accident took place at around 3:35 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The bicyclist was traveling northbound on N Narcoossee Road, just south of Countryside Court in the bicycle lane.

An unknown vehicle that was also traveling northbound on the roadway failed to maintain the outside lane and, as a result, struck the bicycle from behind.

After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene northbound on Narcoossee Road.

The bicyclist, who was only identified as an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Traffic homicide investigators say they located a car part at the scene for a vehicle that could possibly have been involved in the crash. The car part belonged to a white Toyota.
