Bernice E. Roofe, 82, of Apopka, FL departed this life on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Bernice was born on September 5, 1941 in St. Catherine, Jamaica, WI to the late Francella and Osmond Roofe.
For several years she worked as a seamstress. Bernice was a woman of great wisdom. She dedicated her life to providing for her family and service to her church. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of her children and family to follow. She was an active member of Grace Bible Church where she participated in whatever capacity was needed. She loved her family and showed love to everyone. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her love and memories to her daughter, Paulette Shaw-Brown; son, Warren (Elizabeth Charles) Shaw; sisters, Norma Roofe, Cynthia Roofe; brothers, Cleveland Roofe, Basil (Carolyn) Roofe; 6 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the mortuary.
A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church of Central Florida, 801 Dorscher Road, Orlando with Pastor Gene Pritchard, officiating.
