Annie Julia Gaines was born June 10, 1933, in Soperton, Georgia to Mr. Damon and Mrs. Willie Clark of Winter Park, Florida.
Annie attended Orange County Public Schools for her early education. While at Jones Technical School, she became a licensed cosmetologist and later owned her own salon.
Annie gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She loved to pray and was faithful to the Prayer Band, where she would pray for the sick and the shut-in. Annie was a faithful member of Crusaders For Christ Worship Ministries, where Frank L. Dixion is the Pastor. She laid her life at the alter for her children, grandchildren, family and adopted family. She even moved many young women into her home for a safe place.
Annie was preceded in death by: Her daughter Marian Gaines and Catherine Jones; sons Edward and Michael Gaines; parents, Damon and Willie Clark; and sister, Barbara C. Reathy; and brother Damon Clark, Jr.
Having departed this life on November 13, 2023, she leaves to cherish her loving memories: her grandchildren, Robert Richardson (Allison), Keturah Gammons (Tyrone), Shima Clark, W.D. Jones III (Kris), and Marlon Jones (Kenya); great-grandchildren, Terria, Kymbre, Jordan, Michael, Daunte, Taylor (Marsha), Mia (Pow-wow), Jaalen, Christopher, Amiya, Samiyah, Terrance, De’naisha, Evelyn, Marlon, Jr., Brandon, and Tory; great-great-children, Savannah and Summer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and other relatives and sorrowing friends. Annie will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
