Tree lighting ceremonies around Orange County this week

Multiple tree lighting ceremonies will take place across Orange County this weekend as cities gear up for Christmas.

The city of Orlando will host its tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lake Eola Park’s Washington Plaza. The event will include holiday performances at the Walt Disney Amphitheater, food trucks, and a holiday market on International Plaza within Lake Eola Park.

The city of Winter Park will host its tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Central Park (150 W Morse Blvd). The holiday street party will feature an array of activities, including the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, presenting the city’s holiday tree in Central Park, symbolic Menorah lighting, Santa Claus, popcorn flicks in the park, live music, snow slides from the Parks & Recreation Family Fun Program, s’mores from the Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department, and additional activities.

The city of Altamonte Springs will host its tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, December 2 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cranes Roost Park, which is located at 274 Cranes Roost Boulevard. The event will feature live music, entertainment, fireworks, train rides, and Santa and Mrs. Claus. Watch as the park comes alive with spectacular holiday displays featuring 200,000 lights and a 60-foot tree decorated with thousands of ornaments and garland.

The city of Maitland will host its annual Season of Light celebration on Saturday, December 2 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Lily Park. The event will feature snow sledding, carnival games, fireworks, vendors, live music, a tree lighting ceremony, and a visit from Santa. Admission to the event is free.

The city of Apopka will host its annual tree lighting on Friday, December 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kit Land Nelson Park (10 N Forest Avenue) for the holidays. The event will feature holiday music, photos with Santa, and other activities.
