Prison or jail barbed wire fence

A 25-year-old man who was previously convicted of a felony was sentenced to over six years behind bars after he fled multiple police stops and was eventually caught with a firearm.

Allen Lee Glover was sentenced to spend six and a half years in federal prison for possession of a loaded firearm as a convicted felon. Glover pled guilty to the charges on August 4.

According to court records, Orlando Police Department officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by Glover on July 6, 2022. Glover immediately fled at a high rate of speed from the traffic stop.

At the time, Glover was on felony probation and had multiple, active felony warrants hailing from Polk County.

Officers eventually observed the same vehicle pulling into the driveway of a residence and drove towards the vehicle.

As the officers approached, Glover exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. While he was fleeing, he threw a black handgun over the fence of the residence, according to court records.

Glover was eventually apprehended and taken into custody, and the gun was recovered from the backyard of the residence.

According to court records, Glover was previously convicted in Florida for multiple felonies, including grand theft and burglary, among others. As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law.

As part of his sentence, Glover was forced to forfeit a Glock GMBH Model 19 pistol and associated 9mm ammunition that was traceable to the offense.
