An ex-boyfriend accused of stabbing his girlfriend and her new boyfriend to death before attempting to flee the country has been extradited to Orange County on two counts of first degree murder.
Manuel Alejandro Carrasco-Camacaro was returned to Orange County last week to face charges in the homicides of Yohanna Colmenares, 42, and Alex Quintanilla, 40.
The bodies of Colmenares and Quintanilla were found on May 14, 2023. On that day, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 10500 block of Bastille Lane, in the ARIUM Greenview apartments, after receiving a 911 call.
Upon arrival, both victims were found suffering from stab wounds. They were transported to a local hospital, where they died from their injuries.
Carrasco-Camacaro, 40, was originally identified by police as the lead suspect. According to authorities, Carrasco-Camacaro entered the home on Bastille Lane in the early morning hours of May 14 and, while he was in the home, he stabbed both individuals.
Carrasco-Camacaro was originally arrested by deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas while he was traveling to the southern border on May 15, 2023.
Now, he is incarcerated at the Orange County Jail on two counts of first degree murder with a weapon. He is being held on no bond.
