A 33-year-old man from Orlando was killed late last night after a vehicle turned in front of the motorcycle that he was riding.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Curry Ford Road and Bumby Avenue at around 11:10 p.m. on Monday, December 4.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2017 Nissan Rogue was traveling westbound on Curry Ford Road, approaching Bumby Avenue in the inside left turn lane.
The Rogue, which was being driven by a 51-year-old woman from Orlando, attempted to turn left onto Bumby Avenue and entered the direct path of a 2009 Harley Davidson Motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on Curry Ford Road.
As a result, the front of the motorcycle struck the front right of the Nissan. After the impact, the motorcycle traveled in a southeasterly direction before colliding with the left from of a 2016 Ford Transit Van being driven by a 51-year-old Orlando man.
Both the driver of the Nissan and the motorcyclist were transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the van and his passenger, a 48-year-old Orlando woman, were not injured in the crash.
