A 47-year-old man was ejected from his vehicle and killed and two other occupants, including a 3-year-old boy, were seriously injured after the man suffered a medical episode and crashed into a tree.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Stepping Stone Boulevard and Marigold Avenue in Kissimmee at around 8:08 a.m., according to a report issued by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man, who was from Kissimmee, was driving a 2010 Crown Victoria eastbound on Stepping Stone Boulevard, approaching Marigold Avenue, when he suffered a medical episode and drove off the left side of the roadway and into the median.

The vehicle struck a tree and the impact caused the man to be ejected. The car continued to rotate and collided with the driver after he was ejected, according to the FHP report.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two passengers, a 36-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy from Kissimmee, were transported to HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital with serious injuries.
