Lynda M. Glennon of Winter Park, FL died peacefully at home on December 8th, 2023 at the age of 83.
Lynda is survived by her nephew Edward Hennessy of Medford, MA and niece MaryEllen Przybylo of North Haven, CT. Lynda is preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Hennessy of North Haven, CT.
Lynda was born in New Haven, CT, on August 17, 1940 to Raymond and Helen Glennon. She graduated from Albertus Magnus College in 1962 and later earned her Ph.D. at Rutgers University in Sociology. She was a professor first at Rutgers University, moving to Florida in 1980 to become a professor in the Sociology Department at Rollins College. She taught classes for many years on pop culture and women’s studies. She retired from Rollins in 2014. She was an animal lover and supported many animal welfare causes, and her cats were always nearby
Visiting hours for Lynda are from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. December 18, 2023 at DeGusipe Funeral Home- West Orange Chapel.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 12 p.m. Tuesday December 19, 2023 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Queen of Angels Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lynda’s life.
