Michael Hartley Rix, known to his loved ones as Mike/Rixy, passed away on December 3, 2023 at the age of 73 in Winter Park, Florida.
He was born on October 1, 1950 in Beverly, MA to his parents Ralph and Mary Rix. Rixy was a loving and caring individual with a quick wit and a friendly demeanor. He had a positive outlook on life that touched the hearts of those who knew him.
He graduated from Beverly High School, then furthered his education with a Baseball Scholarship at Rollins College, graduating in 1972 with a major in business. Rixy had a passion for baseball and golf but his enthusiasm for all sports brought joy to his life.
Rixy is survived by his beloved life partner and best friend, Kathy Brace, who was the love of his life. He is also survived by his son Derek Rix (wife Andrea), his daughter Shelby Rix Keller (husband Rodney), and his stepchildren Stephen Brace (wife Windy) and Kelsey Brace. Rixy had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren: Zoe Rix, Gunner Rix, Evyn Keller, Cade Keller, Bryce Keller, Jackson Brace and Ezekiel Brace.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mary, his sister Pamela and his son Steven.
A celebration of life memorial service will be on January 20, at 1 p.m. at The Chapel at Willow Creek Church, 4725 East Lake Drive, Winter Springs Fl 32708.
