An Orlando husband and wife were arrested this week in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 29-year-old man in 2021.
Megan Nichole Brannan, who turned 33-years-old today, and her husband, Jeremy Stephen Brannan, Jr., 32, were both arrested on Tuesday, December 12, in connection with the fatal accident, which took place on Interstate 95.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on September 12, 2021, at approximately 11:13 p.m., a 2021 Dodge Charger was traveling southbound on the entrance ramp from LPGA Boulevard onto I-95 south, around mile marker 265.
The vehicle collided with a 2019 Dodge RAM that was traveling southbound on I-95, approaching its interchange with LPGA Boulevard.
After the collision, the Dodge Charger fled the scene.
The driver of the RAM, a 29-year-old man, was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. His passenger, a 27-year-old female, was transported with serious injuries at the time of the accident.
Throughout the ensuing investigation, detectives were able to determine the identity of the driver who was operating the Dodge Charger that fled the scene.
On Tuesday, Mrs. Brannan was booked into the Volusia County Jail and charged with leaving the scene of a crash with death and leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury. Mr. Brannan was booked into the Orange County Jail on a charge of accessory after the fact.
