Apopka officer hit head-on by vehicle while transporting individual

An Apopka Police Officer and a passenger that he was transporting are both in stable condition after the vehicle they were traveling in was struck head-on by another vehicle on State Road 436 this week.

The accident took place on Thursday, December 14, along SR 436, just west of Semoran Commerce Place.

According to the Apopka Police Department, an officer was transporting an individual to a local treatment facility in a marked vehicle when another vehicle crashed into his vehicle.

The officer and the passenger were taken to a local hospital and were in stable condition as of Thursday.

The driver of the other vehicle, which was not identified by police, was in critical condition as of this writing.
