Shooting at illegal after-hours bar in Orlando leaves two injured

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has provided additional details about a shooting that took place at an illegal after-hours bar this morning and left two people injured.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 4100 block of South Orange Blossom Trail just before 7 a.m. this morning in response to calls regarding shots fired.

Upon arrival, deputies located two victims who were suffering from gunshot wounds. According to authorities, the shooting took place in the parking lot of Upstate Hall.

Both individuals were transported to a local hospital. Their condition was not provided by police.

Hours after the incident, the sheriff’s office provided clarification that one of the individuals was a female and the other was male. Hours after that clarification, the sheriff’s office amended its original statement to confirm that both victims were male.

Two male suspects were taken into custody for the shooting. Both of those suspects were transported to a local hospital.

The shooting caused the closure of northbound traffic lanes of S. Orange Blossom Trail at Holden Avenue for several hours on Monday.

According to OCSO, Upstate Hall has been functioning as an after-hours club at the strip mall located in the 4100 block of South Orange Blossom Trail. The sheriff’s office has conducted undercover operations at the business to purchase alcohol sold after hours.

Last month, undercover agents were able to purchase alcoholic drinks at the establishment on separate occasions. In all instances, the alcohol was sold after 2 a.m., which is illegal in Orange County.

After the purchases, two individuals were arrested and charged with selling alcoholic beverages without a license, which is a misdemeanor in Florida.
