Local police, government offices closed for holiday

Law enforcement and government offices across Orange County and Orlando will be closed on Monday and Tuesday in observance of the upcoming Christmas holiday.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced that its offices will be closed to the public beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Those closures will remain in effect through Tuesday, December 26. Deputies will still be working and patrolling the community, and 911 operators and dispatchers will also be working. The non-emergency line at 407-836-4357 will also be available.

The city of Orlando will be closed on Christmas Day and Tuesday, December 26. During the holiday, residential garbage will not be collected and most on-street meter spaces will not be enforced.

City of Winter Park government offices will be closed starting Friday, December 22 at 12 p.m. The offices will remain closed on Monday, December 25, but will reopen on Tuesday, December 26.

Winter Garden will close all of its offices on Monday and there will be no solid waste collection services on that day as well.

The cities of Apopka, Ocoee, and Maitland will also close their offices on Monday. All three will not offer trash collection services on that day as well.
