Sanford police seeking potential victims of sex offender

Law enforcement authorities are asking the public for help to identify potential victims of a man who is being charged with ten counts of sexual assault by a custodian against a child.

On Wednesday, the Sanford Police Department issued a statement asking for the public’s help in identifying potential victims of sex offender Jeremiah Edge.

Edge, 39, was arrested in connection with a sexual abuse investigation that began on November 23. A warrant for his arrest was issued on December 7 and on December 8, he was taken into custody in Orlando by members of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

No information regarding Johnson’s activities was released by authorities and his arrest report was not immediately available.

Johnson is currently incarcerated at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on ten counts of sexual assault by custodian, and sexual battery of a victim between 12 and 18 years of age.

Sanford detectives believe there could be additional victims in the case and are asking for anyone who has been victimized to come forward and share their stories.

Anyone with information related to interactions or activity with Jeremiah Johnson is asked to contact the Sanford Police Department at 407-688-5070 or the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
