Scott Allen Gabriel of Heathrow, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Scott was born and raised in Piqua, Ohio on June 26, 1959, and at a very young age took up the game of golf, which became his lifetime hobby.
Scott graduated from Piqua High School in 1977 and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he was a member of the USL golf team and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, serving as treasurer & president. He graduated from USL in 1982 and worked in banking, banking software & government contract management.
Anyone who knew Scott would agree that he was always the most humble, logical, patient and generous person in the room and those qualities served him well during his 64 years of life.
Scott is survived by his wife of 39 ½ years, Anita Ducote Gabriel and his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Stephen Denihan. He is also survived by his parents, Pat & Nancy Treon, his brother, Randy Gabriel and his stepsiblings, Jan Nelson, Kurt Rowell & Laurie Santowski. Scott was preceded in death by his father & stepmother, Jack & Jeri Gabriel and his in-laws, Raymond and Amanda Ducote. Scott always enjoyed gatherings with his family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Scott on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes, 1700 Alaqua Lakes Blvd., Longwood, FL.
