Sgt. Benjamin McKenzie, 80, of Orlando, departed this life on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Benjamin was born on November 23, 1943 in Louisville, Alabama to the late Willa Mae and Odies McKenzie. Benjamin served in the US Army and earned the rank of Sergeant prior to his discharge in 1970. During his military service, he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. After his military service, he owned and operated Ben’s Muffler Shop for over 50 years off Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando. He was a member of both the American Legion Post 286 and the Volture Locale 202.

Benjamin was a dedicated family man. He instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of his family to follow. Ben, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Diana McKenzie, daughters, Laurie, Carmen (Steven), and Cindy, son, Chris (Joni), sister, Ruth, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father (Odies), his mother (Willa Mae), brother (Lewis Sr.) and his son (John).
