Norman Flagg entered into heaven in the early morning hours of December 13, 2023, just a few days before his 90th birthday with family by his side.
Norman is survived by Connie, his wife of 67 years, his son Christopher (Linda) Flagg, daughter Kelly Peterson, and daughter Molly (Marty) Wolk as well as four grandsons, Ryan (Alyssa) Peterson, Kenny Peterson, Sam Wolk and Daniel Wolk. He is also survived by his sister Sally Haake and brother-in-law Bill Hagemeyer as well as dear family friend Denis Katkov.
Norman was a graduate of Rollins College, Christian Retreat School of Ministry, and Rhema Bible Training College, where he received his ordination as a minister of the Gospel. Before entering the ministry, he worked in the aerospace industry and was a business owner in the Orlando area. Upon ordination, he began his true calling as a missionary to other countries, traveling to Bolivia with Connie as director of a Bible college in 1989 and later becoming the pastor of La Paz Community Church, the English-speaking church in the capital of Bolivia, until 1993. In 1994, Norman was called to Russia and began establishing and directing Bible colleges under the auspices of Missionary Ventures International, including nine years in Pskov, three years in Volgograd, and three years in Barnaul.
Norman loved anything on wheels, from cars to motorcycles to bicycles, bicycling into his last year of life. He loved adventure, travel, fitness, and being outdoors, but his true joy was sharing the Gospel with the world.
A celebration of life will be held on January 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at West Orlando Baptist Church, 1006 E. Crown Point Road, Ocoee, FL 34761.
