Sarah Ruth Bird passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 1, 2024, at the age of 77. She bravely fought more than a year-long battle with breast cancer. She had a larger-than-life personality with a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor.

Professionally, she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence later in life and had a successful twenty-year career as an attorney. Prior to that, she worked many years as a nurse.

Personally, Sarah loved an adventure and visited many places around the world. Sarah was born in Gastonia, NC and raised in Baltimore, MD and Orlando, FL. She’s lived in seven different states but always called Florida home. Sarah lived life to the fullest. She treasured her family and friends the most.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth Joyner, and four of her five brothers. She is survived by her three daughters: Ms. Janice Bird of Clermont, FL; Rev. Dr. Robin Bird (Taunya) of Vernon, CT; and Ms. Candace Ryan of Signal Mountain, TN; along with four grandchildren (Anastasia, Jesse, Jack, and Amelia,) and three granddoggies (Charley, Bogey, and Alfey). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Sarah will be greatly missed by all those who have loved her.
