Law enforcement authorities are looking for a vehicle that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 71-year-old Orlando man over the weekend.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of N Powers Drive and Indian Hill Road on Sunday, January 7, at around 1:10 a.m.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was traveling southbound on Powers Drive, just south of Indian Hill Road.

For unknown reasons, a vehicle that was behind the bicycle did not slow down or stop. As a result, the front of the vehicle struck the bicycle.

The man was transported to Health Central Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

After the collision, traffic homicide investigators located a car part at the scene for a vehicle that they believe was involved in the collision. That car part was for a 2021- 2023 KIA K5 of unknown color. The vehicle would also have damage to its right front.
