A Kissimmee man who was under federal supervised release is facing additional charges after he was allegedly caught with 10 kilograms of cocaine and 2 kilograms of fentanyl.

Maximo Espinosa, 44, was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and fentanyl while he was on federal supervised release, according to a statement issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.

According to court records, Espinosa and a collection of co-conspirators were part of an organization that distributed kilograms of cocaine and fentanyl throughout parts of the Middle District of Florida, including Osceola and Polk counties.

Espinosa and his conspirators were accused of making distributions on November 9, 2023, December 5, 2023, and December 7, 2023.

On January 2, 2024, Espinosa was arrested while he was allegedly attempting to distribute more cocaine and fentanyl. According to police, he was caught with 10 kilograms of cocaine and 2 kilograms of fentanyl.

A search warrant was executed at Espinosa’s home, where authorities allegedly found another kilogram of cocaine, a half-kilogram of fentanyl, two firearms, and several hundred pills.

Espinosa faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison and will face an additional sentence for violating his terms of supervised release.
