An Orlando man has been arrested in connection with a homicide that claimed the life of a 36-year-old man last week.
Montrey Hughley, 24, was taken into custody on Wednesday, January 10, on a charge of second degree murder with a firearm.
Hughley is accused of murdering Derrick Alexander on January 6, 2024.
On that day, Orlando Police Department officers responded to reports of a vehicular accident at W. Pine Street and S. Westmoreland Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found the driver of the vehicle, Alexander, had been shot. Alexander was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives worked to identify Hughley as the shooter in the days that followed.
Hughley is currently incarcerated at the Orange County Jail with no bond.
