He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maritza Sebastien Godwin; sons, Troy Sebastien (Tammy), Alexander Sosthenes III (Amanda); daughter, Raja Alethia, and grandchildren Andre, Abigail, and Jackson Alexander. He is also survived by siblings Mary Anne Godwin, Christina Godwin White, Johnny Leon Godwin, Margaret Godwin, Paul Godwin, Charles Edward Godwin, Vivian I. Godwin, Betty Godwin Jackson, beloved Aunt Dica Pressley, one sister-in-law, Carol Godwin, two brothers-in-law Maurice Andre Sebastien, and Bryce Adelbert Sebastien, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will continue to carry forward the memories of a remarkable man.

Alexander, affectionately known as Jaybird, embraced faith at a young age. At 8 years old, on a beautiful Easter Sunday morning, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church in Orlando, marking the beginning of a lifelong spiritual journey. Later in life, he became a faithful member of The Cathedral Church of St. Luke, Orlando, FL. Community Service: His dedication to community service was evident throughout his life. Achieving Eagle Scout status in 1961, serving as a lifeguard at community pools, and being a Charter Member of the Young Adult Council Central FL NAACP showcased his commitment to making a positive impact. He was also a Certified Mediator and member of the Orange County Bar Association, FL. Additionally, he contributed to the community as a Manager of the US Postal Service and a BBC Television Station Engineer in the Caribbean. Education and Achievements.

A lifelong scholar, Alexander was the valedictorian of Jones High School Class of 1962. He went on to graduate with honors, earning multiple MBAs from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA, Columbia School of Broadcasting, San Francisco, and the University of Central Florida, Orlando. He was also an FAA Certified pilot. His creative side flourished as a hobbyist, collecting coins, stamps, and seashells. He was known for his secret recipes developed in his passionate craft brewery. Military Service: Chief Petty Officer Godwin dedicated a significant part of his life to serving in the United States Navy. His commitment, discipline, and valor were exemplified throughout his distinguished career. His unwavering dedication to duty and love for his country left an indelible mark on those who served alongside him. His presence brought joy and warmth to family gatherings, creating enduring memories for all.
