Suspect arrested in fatal road rage shooting on Colonial Drive

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing another man during a road rage incident.

Nicholas Carrasquillo was arrested by members of the Orlando Police Department in connection with the homicide of David Alexzander Sligh, 30, who was found dead this morning on East Colonial Drive.

According to OPD, officers responded to the area near Lake Baldwin Lane at around 6:24 a.m. and, upon arrival, found Sligh suffering from gunshot wounds.

They attempted to provide life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful. According to OPD, Sligh succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Carrasquillo remained at the scene and was eventually taken into custody.

Carrasquillo is being charged with first degree murder with a firearm. He is currently being held at the Orange County Jail.
